 On February 16, 2021, HE Mr. KURAMITSU, Ambassador of Japan to the Rebublic of Côte d'Ivoire proceeded to sign the Exchange of Notes related to Yen Loan "African Development Fund 15th Replenishment with Dr. Adesina, President of the African Development Fund (AfDF).  The ceremony took place on line due to prevention of Covid-19 and Dr. KITAOKA, President of the Japan International Agency as well as Mr. Mimura, Deputy Director of the International Bureau, Ministry of Finance of Japan could participate in the ceremony from Tokyo.  Yen Loan Agreement was also signed at the same occasion by Mr. FUJINO, Chief Representative of JICA Côte d'Ivoire Office and Ms. Tshabalala, Vice President of the AfDF.
 
 At TICAD 7 that took place in August 2019, Japan expressed its intention that it would take necessary actions to train industrial human resources, promote innovation and investment and invest in quality infrastructure to enhance connectivity under three pillars i.e. Economy, Society and Peace and Stability.  It was announced at the same occasion that Japan will make contribution in partnership with the African Development Bank under the joint initiative of EPSA (Enhanced Private Sector Assistance for Africa) Phase 4.
 
 This loan amounts to Seventy-three billion yen with such concessional conditions as 0.11% of annual interest and forty years of reimbursement period including 10 years of grace period.  It will be used for the capital source of AfDF to joint loans to sovereign co-financing under EPSA.
